One of the biggest blockbusters of 2015 has announced plans to come home on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital download. The Despicable Me spin-off, Minions, delighted audiences to the tune of over a billion dollars in worldwide gross since its theatrical debut in July and now Universal Studios has announced plans for our favorite little troublemakers’ journey to home video.
Look for Minions to arrive just in time for the holidays on November 24 in Digital HD and then on December 8 for Blu-Ray, DVD and On Demand.
Minions is a prequel of sorts to the Despicable Me series as it introduces the beginnings of our Minions friends, taking us back to the time when dinosaurs walked the earth. They were always just a group of evil-doers looking for a leader and they found some interesting ones over the centuries, like Dracula and Napoleon.
Yet, they never truly found their perfect match until they encountered Scarlet Overkill (Sandra Bullock, soon to be seen in Our Brand is Crisis) in the swinging ‘60s. Together, they would hatch a plan to steal the royal jewels and put Overkill on the throne as ruler of England. That is, if the Minions can achieve that heist of all heists! Bullock is not alone in the voice talent that rules supreme in Minions, as Jon Hamm literally steals every scene he’s in.
When it comes to bonus features, there are a bevy of them, including a series of all-new Minion short films!
