One of The Movie Mensch’s favorite filmmakers is back with the haunting-looking The Visit.
Night Shyamalan returns to Pennsylvania for a story about a couple of grandkids who head to their grandparent’s farm to meet their Nana and Pop-pop for the first time. Yup, they’re teenagers, but after their mother left the family farm at 19 in a not-so-well way, they have had no contact.
When the grandparents reach out to their daughter and ask if they can meet their grandkids, the teens think it would be a great idea. So, they head out on the train from their New York City home to the snowy landscape of rural Pennsylvania to spend a week with Nana and Pop-pop.
There’s just a couple of rules, one big one really:
Old people go to bed at 9:30 p.m. and you should probably not leave your room after that time… and it’s easy to see why as Universal has released a slew of haunting images from the Shyamalan film that is co-produced by Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Productions.
The film stars Kathryn Hahn, Ed Oxenbould (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day), Deanna Dunagan Peter McRobbie and Olivia DeJonge.
Prepare to take The Visit on September 11.
