Remember that inspiring story about 33 Chilean miners who were trapped beneath the earth for countless days and somehow, miraculously, emerged alive? Well, The 33 tells that tale and Warner Bros. has released the film’s first trailer.
It was back in 2010 and 33 men ventured below the earth, as they and their forefathers had done so many times before. Only on this day, the “heart of the mountain” would give and trap them hundreds of stories beneath the surface. With only three days of provisions, hope seemed distant.
They would weather 100-plus degree conditions beneath a boulder that was twice the size of the Empire State Building for an astounding 69 days before rescue would come their way. The 33 takes us inside the tragedy and the triumph that inspired the world.
The 33 features an all-star cast including Antonio Banderas, Mario Casas, Lou Diamond Phillips, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, Gabriel Byrne and James Brolin.
Look to be inspired anew when The 33 lands in theaters November 13.
