That first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer honestly did not impress The Movie Mensch. But, boy, oh boy, is our mind blown with the just dropped Comic-Con full length trailer for Zack Snyder’s follow-up to Man of Steel.
Not only do we get our first look at Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, but the extended monologue from Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor has us salivating at the idea that this young tech titan has gotten some new vicious blood after toiling in familiar territory in the comics and on the big screen for decades.
Then, there’s Ben Affleck. We see why there is a “v” in the title of the film. During the final battle at the end of Man of Steel between Superman and General Zod, it appeared that a Wayne Industries building was destroyed and dozens of people were killed. That “I’m going to kill him” look from Affleck in the trailer below is enough to make even the strongest willed person run for the hills. Who’s questioning that casting now, huh?!
Not that comic book movies need a stroke of realism, but we like the idea that Holly Hunter’s U.S. Senator would call Superman in front of Congress to defend his actions in the destruction of Metropolis and also ask what his intentions are for the future.
When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits screens March 25, prepare for the epic scope teased in the above teaser to be even more legendary.
Also we appreciate our first look at Jeremy Irons’ Alfred!
