The Movie Mensch caught up with the stars of Self/Less, Natalie Martinez and Derek Luke, for an exclusive video interview.
The pair gave us insight into two of the elements that make Self/Less a truly special and wildly original flick — star Ryan Reynolds and director Tarsem Singh.
We start with Martinez, who has been recently seen in Under the Dome and one of our favorite movies of recent memory, End of Watch. She tells us what makes Reynolds so special, actor-to-actor, and how this is by far his best work in years.
Martinez also reveals why she thinks Self/Less, the story of a dying billionaire (Ben Kingsley) who puts his brain and memories into a younger man (Reynolds), is much more than a sci-fi thriller. “It’s a story about the lengths people go to save their family,” she revealed.
Luke then shares a fantastic story about what makes Singh such a special person — not just a terrific and visionary director, but just a great human being. It’s a don’t-miss tale for the guy who stars alongside Reynolds as his good buddy… or is he?!
