Marvel Studios announced today that production has commenced on their highly anticipated sequel to the monster hit Ant-Man. Ant-Man and The Wasp started shooting today with Paul Rudd returning as the title character and Evangeline Lilly back as well, she too a title character now! Also reprising their roles is Michael Douglas, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer (recently seen in War for the Planet of the Apes), Abby Ryder Fortson, Tip “T.I.” Harris and David Dastmalchian.
Joining the cast will be Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Walton Goggins, Randall Park and Hannah John-Kamen.
Returning to the director’s chair is Peyton Reed, working with a screenplay penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari and Paul Rudd.
Ant-Man and The Wasp opens July 6, 2018 and will be shooting in San Francisco and Atlanta.

In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
