Spider-Man No Way Home Trailer: Doctor Strange, Green Goblin, Doc Ock & Sandman, Oh My!

The long wait is over for the first true Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer. The third installment in the Tom Holland starring vehicle looks to blow up its world as villains from every corner of the Spidey-verse have converged and things are not looking good for our webbed wonder.

The first thing that stands out is, of course, the presence of Benedict Cumberbatch’s beloved Doctor Strange. Seems that Peter doesn’t want people to know who his alter ego is, so a spell is hatched, and it has unforeseen consequences. Yeah, like when Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), Jamie Foxx’s Electro, the Goblin (with what sounds like Willem Dafoe), and of course, that sandy fellow called The Sandman (played previously by Thomas Haden Church.

How is our favorite web singer going to handle this?

His pals are back, such as Zendaya’s MJ and his  “man in a van” Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds.

This could be the final chapter in a trilogy that has been incredibly successful. Not to take anything away from Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield, but Holland has proven to me this writer’s favorite Spidey. On that note, given that this is a multi-verse-centric film, look for those other two Spider-Mans to appear at some point. Yeah, that!

Look for the film in theaters only on December 17 and enjoy the new synopsis:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.”
