The Black Phone Trailer: Horror Flick from Cinematic Master Scott Derrickson

Director Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) is with Ethan Hawke as his star who portrays a horrific killer terrorizing a town. The small town murderer lurks around residents without being seen as he works as a local magician.

The film also stars Mason Thames, Madeline McGraw and Jeremy Davis, James Ransome and it lands in theaters on February 4.

Hawke’s character kidnaps who zeroes in on children in particular. The film will be centered around a small town with a horrific killer (Hawke) lurking among the residents undetected (working as a part-time magician, nonetheless!) as he kidnaps and ultimately murders children. Finney Shaw (Thames) is a quiet, yet smart 13-year-old boy who is taken by the mysterious killer. He’s placed in a soundproof basement with barely a mattress and a phone that doesn’t work.

In a shock move, the phone rings and it’s the children who were the killer’s previous victims.

The voices coach him in how to escape.

Derrickson (Dr. Strange, The Exorcism of Emily) once again dives down the horror hole and is this time working with the premiere horror studio in the business, Blumhouse.
