What happens when Shang-Chi is pulled into the fabled 10 rings organization? That is the question that lies at the heart of Marvel’s latest, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, starring Simu Liu as the title character, along with It Girl Awkwafina, as well as Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Michelle Yeoh, Benedict Wong (Nine Days), and Tony Leong.
What is so fantastic about this particular 30-second spot is the emphasis on the humor. Marvel is no stranger to interlacing their action sequences with LOL moments that are sure to cut the tension and increase the action beats strewn throughout.
The script was penned by director Destin Daniel Cretton, as well as Dave Callaham.
Further proof of Awkwafina’s perfect casting is in the teasers opening moments as she and Shang-Chi arguing about the gentleman with a sword for an appendage that is attacking them on a bus. This leads to a whole lot of exposition, but yet it still clocks in to 30 seconds with plenty of action. I’m telling you; this is one fine TV spot.
