The final trailer for A Quiet Place Part II has arrived and it is a reason to celebrate. The John Krasinski film was going to debut last year, but the Coronavirus had other plans. As the nation gets vaccinated, Paramount felt confident that it was finally time to bring the long-anticipated sequel to A Quiet Place to the world. Judging by this trailer, the sequel will be worth the wait.
As I’ve said on countless podcasts over the last 15 months, A Quiet Place literally defined why we love going to the movies and sitting in the dark with a bunch of strangers so we can collectively be moved and yes, scared out of our minds. Those gasps of hundreds of people in unison is pure joy for our movie loving folk.
So, look for A Quiet Place II only in theaters May 28—although it will debut on a streaming platform, Paramount+ exactly 45 days after its theatrical release.
The sequel is written and directed by Krasinski, who also wrote himself into the film. As you see in previous A Quiet Place II trailers, there are flashback scenes that chronicle when the aliens first landed on earth and the chaos that ensued. That aspect of the sequel is utterly intriguing and should prove many of those jump scares with those fellow theatergoers!
Of course, Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt returns with Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe as her children. She is heading out into the unknown after their home was not… let’s just say safe anymore. New to the cast will be people she runs into in this post-invasion world where the slightest sound could kill you. Joining the cast is Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
