The Happiest Season trailer has landed from Hulu and the wildly original romantic comedy finds Kristen Stewart in the closet, but not for long!
Meeting your significant other’s parents is always a challenge, regardless of the nature of your relationship. Gay or straight, having your family meet your better half—especially during the holidays—is one big ball of nerves.
It is especially difficult for Harper (Mackenzie Davis), who has kept her relationship with Abby (Kristen Stewart) a secret from her parents (Victor Garber and Mary Steenburgen).
In fact, her desire to “not ruin Christmas” is causing problems for Abby, after all… she doesn’t want to hide her passion for Harper in the least.
Happiest Season chronicles the days leading up to the, well…the Happiest Season and how the stressors seem to multiply when the clan gets together during “that time of year.”
Imagine coming out to your parents and siblings and not only that but introducing them to the love of your life who you want to marry! Harper has her hands full. Yup, her folks don’t even know she is gay.
The Happiest Season is directed by Clea DuVall, working from a script she co-wrote with Mary Holland. It also stars Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, Daniel Levy, Mary Holland, and Burl Moseley. Look for it on Hulu on November 25.
