Netflix’s fun ride that is Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is coming to a close and now we know when the exciting final season will debut, thanks to a new teaser about the teenage witch, her family, her coven, and most importantly—her good friends.
Kiernan Shipka seamlessly moved from Mad Men to the more mature role of the titular teenage witch. She commanded from the first moment of that first season. The program is based on the 2014 comic book series written by Aguirre-Sacasa and was brought to the Netflix streaming service by Riverdale’s Aguirre-Sacasa as well.
By now, you’re probably like, OK, when will season four start! Get to the point! OK, look for the teenage witch to conclude her adventures starting when Netflix premieres Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on December 31. Happy New Year, indeed.
Season four, or chapter four—however you want to describe it—will feature eight, one-hour eps. According to the just-released synopsis (below), the crux of the season will follow Sabrina Spellman and her war with Fautus Blackwood (Richard Coyle) and his band of Eldritch Terrors. Our heroine is hardly by herself as that family I mentioned earlier are also witches and you can count on them lining right up with Sabrina as they have firmly since the show’s pilot. There are here two aunts, Zelda (Miranda Otto) and Hilda (Lucy Davis) as well as her cousin Ambrose (Chance Perdomo). There’s also her pals, Theo (Lachlan Watson), Harvey (Ross Lynch), and of course Rosalind (Jaz Sinclair)—who has some supernatural gifts as well.
Synopsis:
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina reimagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and, of course, witchcraft. Over the course of Part 4’s eight episodes, The Eldritch Terrors will descend upon Greendale. The coven must fight each terrifying threat one-by-one (The Weird, The Returned, The Darkness to name a few), all leading up to…The Void, which is the End of All Things. As the witches wage war, with the help of The Fright Club, Nick begins to slowly earn his way back into Sabrina’s heart, but will it be too late?
