The streaming giant Netflix has unveiled its first trailer for the sci-fi series Away. The story follows an ensemble of astronauts from around the world—led by Hilary Swank—who are making history. They’re the first humans to undertake a mission to Mars.
Swank’s Emma Green has a husband and young daughter, Lex, who she is leaving behind on the three-year mission. The complications of such a lengthy commitment comes through piercingly on this trailer.
What else emerges is that the filmmakers behind this visually stunning program smartly chose to showcase that Emma is not alone in the sacrifice department.
