The 2018 Halloween was a marvel of horrific scares and thrills, due largely to the performances of its star, Jamie Lee Curtis. Oh, and that Michael Myers character, who has been getting under Curtis’ and audiences’ collective skins for four decades. The madman is returning, but not when we initially expected, most likely due to theaters not even being open yet, and their likelihood of being open as Covid soars in the states is unlikely anytime soon.
So, what of the teaser.
It’s simple, really … and truly just a teaser.
It features our big three heroines—Curtis as Laurie, Judy Greer (as her daughter), Karen and Andi Matichak portraying her daughter, Allyson. They’re where we left them at the end of 2018’s Halloween. In the back of a pick-up truck, covered in blood and screaming that they made it out of the inferno that was Laurie’s house. Stuck inside was one mass-murdering monster.
Problem… here come the fire trucks to put out the fire. As soon as they hear the sirens, a chorus of “Nos,” envelopes the screen.
Something tells me Michael might make it out of that inferno.
That’s a pretty effective teaser. Oh, and that release date change. Look for Halloween Kills in theaters (for real this time) on October 15, 2012.
