Well folks, perhaps times are changing. We have our first trailer for the Solstice Studios’ film, Unhinged. It stars Oscar winner Russell Crowe (recently seen in the True Story of the Kelly Gang as someone who is, well … Unhinged.
The film chronicles what happens when Crowe’s character is having a really bad day and Caren Pistorius and her son have the misfortune of honking at him at a green light and that simple event triggers a landslide of obsession, revenge and someone who gets, well … Unhinged.
What sets this film trailer apart is you will notice the words, “opening July 1 in theaters.” It is all part of a campaign, launched by the studios, to let theater owners know that they believe American audiences are dying to get back into the dark and have some fun with the golden light on the big screen. Whether Americans are ready to sit in the dark with strangers, even in socially distance-approved spaces, that is a whole different ballgame. I’ve heard some fans say they won’t be in a movie theater until there is a vaccine. So, there’s that.
The psychological thriller, so says Solstice, will be the first new film to open in theaters after the Coronavirus laid waste to our movie theaters for the past several months.
Unhinged is directed by Derrick Borte (American Dreamer) and also stars Pistorius, Gabriel Bateman, Jimmi Simpson, and Austin P. McKenzie.
