The Beastie Boys were many things to many people. No one can deny their brilliance and that, and so much more, is captured by filmmaker Spike Jonze in what is being called a “live documentary” that celebrates the pioneering group. What else comes through in this doc’s teaser, is you’d be hard pressed to find three closer friends than Mike Diamond, Adam Horovitz and the late Adam Yauch.
The highly anticipated doc features the two surviving members of the Beastie Boys, Diamond and Horovitz, taking the stage to narrate in real time the historic footage that documents the band’s rise and further ascension into rock and hip hop royalty.
Jonze was the perfect person to bring this together, as he not only helmed such envelope-pushing films as Her and Being John Malkovich, but directed some Beastie’s classic videos, such as Sabotage.
Look for Beastie Boys Story to premiere on Apple TV+ on April 24. You get to check it out on IMAX on April 2!
