Yup, it appears as if Rock is a huge fan of the James Wan spawned horror series and put pen to paper and crafted a Saw film that is firmly within the wheelhouse of the horror series that is enormously successful, but is also very much a Rock-ian endeavor.
The film stars Rock as Detective Zeke Banks, Max Minghella as his partner, as well as Samuel L. Jackson and Marisol Nichols in supremely important roles.
Darren Lynn Bousman, the man behind the camera for a few Saw flicks—Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV keeps it in the family and brings all that Saw experience with him to a fresh story perspective from the veteran comic.
The trailer looks really good, with just the right amount of tease to whet our appetites and not give too much away. Consider us intrigued for the flick that lands in theaters May 15.
