Bad Boys for Life Trailer: Will Smith & Martin Lawrence Ride Again

Those Miami detectives who were too cool for school are back—Will Smith’s Mike Lowrey and Martin Lawrence’s Marcus Burnett—in Bad Boys for Life.

The dynamic duo return to the characters they created in the first 1995 flick (that was followed-up with a sequel in 2003) and what on earth could it be that got them to strap on those bullet proof vests and have us join them as they head back into harm’s way?

It’s hard to say, from what can be gleaned from this first trailer. That’s not bad, in fact, too many trailers give away too much these days. But what we do know is that Mike is still tooling around in cars that are way above a cop’s pay grade. Marcus is still cracking jokes at his partner’s expense and somehow, Mike manages to toss them—improved—back at his pal.

In terms of what they’re investigating this time out … no clue! You know what … it doesn’t matter. It’s not like audiences turn out in droves for these Bad Boys movies for the plot. If there is one, all the better. The comedic chemistry between Smith and Lawrence is priceless and from what we can tell from this first teaser is it has only increased with time.

Joining the superstars in their first Bad Boys foray in 16 years are Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Paola Nunez, Kate Del Castillo and Joe Pantoliano (Joey Pants!)

Bad Boys for Life lands in theaters January 17, 2020.
