The first trailer for Brad Pitt’s latest headlining effort has landed from 20thh Century Fox. The highly anticipated Ad Astra is a sci-fi drama and comes from one of our favorite directors in his most commercial work to date, James Gray.
The writer-director paints a picture of a world where Pitt’s astronaut is sent into the further regions of our solar system to find his father (Tommy Lee Jones), who has disappeared, along with his crew and ship from a mission that been MIA for 16 years.
All authorities know at this point is that Pitt’s father’s ship has something on it that could wipe out everything in the universe, us included. He must find him, his ship and do his best to destroy this mysterious item.
Gray recently gave us The Lost City of Z—which I thoroughly enjoyed—and is back with Pitt and Jones headlining a cast that also includes Donald Sutherland, Ruth Negga and Liv Tyler.
Pitt has Once Upon a Time in Hollywood coming in July and Ad Astra arriving September 20.
