Director Jim Jarmusch crafted a script with The Dead Don’t Die and something sparked a fire in a slew of enormously talented folks. As the first trailer for the zombie film has arrived, besides it being a terrific look at what appears to be a summer-must-see-movie, the strength of that cast is mind-blowing!
Bill Murray (reuniting with his Broken Flowers director) and Adam Driver portray two police officers who come to the conclusion that all these deaths in town are likely because of a zombie infestation. The way in which these two operate in the teaser below is just so sensational. The tone firmly reminds me of Shaun of the Dead in that the zombie menace is treated in such a manner that is matter of fact and direct. There’s no freaking out. It is what it is and what are we going to do about it, is the feel emitted by all involved in this hilarious and haunting looking flick.
So, back to that cast. Joining Murray and Driver are Selena Gomez, legends Carol Kane and Tom Waits, as well as Chloe Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Rosie Perez, Caleb Landry Jones, RZA, Luka Sabbat and Austin Butler.
Prepare for a comedic zombie invasion when The Dead Don’t Die arrives in theaters June 14.
