The first trailer for the Mindy Kailing written and produced by comedy, Late Night. The flick finds Emma Thompson behind the desk of a late-night talk show who is under immense pressure to change it up or be out of a job within a year.
What’s a host to do? Why, break up the writers-room boys’ club and hire Kailing’s Molly Patel and at first, things do not go so well. Heck, it’s funnier that way, yes?
Late Night also stars John Lithgow (soon to be seen in the remake of Pet Sematary), Ike Barinholtz, Hugh Dancy, Amy Ryan and Denis O’Hare.
The Sundance smash has quite a lot of Oscar buzz surrounding Thompson’s performance and from what we can see in the trailer below, it’s totally warranted.
Amazon Studios is releasing the comedy from director Nisha Ganatra on June 17.
