Frozen 2 Teaser: Elsa & Anna Get Out of Arendelle

One of the most anticipated trailers of the year has finally arrived—Frozen 2! Prepare for shrieks heard around the world.

The first teaser for the follow-up to the blockbuster hit of 2013, Frozen, shows off all our favorite characters—Elsa (Idina Menzel), Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Sven and of course, Olaf (Josh Gad). What we don’t hear is them talking, and that is just perfect and exactly as it should be for a “teaser.” This thing whets the appetite like few teasers out there. It is all action and for those of us who know these characters as well as can be, chills will abound.

What we’ve heard about the story is that it takes place outside the snowy confines of their home kingdom of Arendelle. Our favorite characters venture out into the world and from what is teased  by Walt Disney Animation in the trailer above confirms that. We’re not in Arendelle anymore, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf.

Having zero dialogue is a risk, but one that pays off here immensely. We know these characters and after all, this is tease, no plot is needed. All the trailer has to do is pique our interest and that it does—big time. In fact, it gave this writer chills. Perhaps that’s because I have a five-year-old who has been madly in love with this world since she was two-years-old.

The film also released its first poster and it is a frozen fractured delight.

The behind-the-scenes team on Frozen 2 is the same as it was on Frozen and we can only imagine what type of visual, emotional and musical treats directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have in store for Frozen nation.

Anticipation for the movie has built exponentially since 2013 and in five years since it premiered, hundreds of millions of little girls (and boys, of course!) have been biting at the bit to see what’s next in the Frozen saga. Well, the wait just got a little harder in my opinion because this teaser is incredibly fantastic and these new landscapes they’re appearing in (Elsa scaling massive waves in the ocean?!) have us already dazzled.

Frozen 2 is one of our 30 most anticipated movies of 2019–who else makes the list?!

Look for Frozen 2 on November 22.
