Got to give it to Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures for the way they are marketing the upcoming sequel to The Secret Life of Pets. Each “trailer,” is truly an introduction to a character from The Secret Life of Pets 2. Today’s trailer puts the spotlight firmly on Jenny Slate’s adorable pup, Gidget.
The thing is… Gidget is training to be a cat. Why? We have no idea, but it is hilarious.
The Pomeranian takes some practice, but eventually nails the feline point of view, suppressing those canine urges to chase a ball and other pedantic dog activities!
Slate returns to the role she originated in the original film, but someone is notably absent as we noticed from the change of vocal tenor in the first The Secret Life of Pets 2 trailer that introduced us to Max. Yup, Louis CK is out (for obvious reasons) and Patton Oswolt is in.
The rest of the cast is comprised of Kevin Hart, Eric Stonestreet, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, and Dana Carvey. New voice cast includes Harrison Ford, Tiffany Haddish, Nick Kroll and Pete Holmes.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 premieres in theaters June 7.
