The monster hit, Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch, is coming home on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital formats and everyone in Whoville should be beyond excited!
The lovable baddie whose heart was two-sizes too small got the big screen treatment with an impeccably cast Benedict Cumberbatch portraying the titular character in a way that will go down as legendary.
The Grinch will land on digital formats on January 22 and then arrive on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 5. Also included are a series of hilarious new mini-movies featuring those adorable Minions and The Grinch’s BFF, Max! Illumination has truly outdone itself with their latest and from the listed set of bonus features, fans of the film and appreciators of Dr. Seuss himself will be happier than The Grinch after he successfully steals Christmas (only to then discover the real meaning of the holiday).
Cumberbatch brilliantly voices The Grinch and keep in mind, this is not your parents or grandparents’ Grinch. The story has expanded in the most delightful of ways, including having our anti-hero score a lovable (which you know gets under the green guy’s skin!) neighbor (voiced by Kenan Thompson of SNL fame), Bricklebaum. Rashida Jones is Donna Who, Cameron Seely (The Greatest Showman) voices the adorable Cindy-Lou Who and the production scored a major coup when they landed screen icon Angela Lansbury as the mayor of Whoville.
The thing that is so stunning about witnessing this incarnation of Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch is not only how timeless the film is, but also how it works for any season—not simply Christmas.
