One can see why the first Captain Marvel teaser trailer was called a “teaser” with the release of the first “full” Captain Marvel trailer from Disney and Marvel Studios.
Oscar winner Brie Larson (Room) stars as Carol Danvers, a pilot who possesses superhero powers. She has memories of a human upbringing, but they are fleeting. Danvers does recall coming from space and landing in that Blockbuster (as teased in that first… well, teaser!).
Joining the talented actress in the cast is Samuel L. Jackson, who reprises his role as Nick Fury. What is so fascinating about this turn of Jackson as Fury is it’s his “first” appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. See, Captain Marvel takes place in the 1980s, so thanks to some computer engineering, he looks quite a bit younger than when we last saw him as the S.H.I.E.L.D. member. Also back, is Agent Coulsen (Clark Gregg). Both castings has us supremely excited.
Lee Pace too reprises a Marvel role. He’s back as Ronan (our baddie from Guaridans of the Galaxy). Also returning from Guardians is Djimon Hounsou as Korath (you remember him, right? He’s the one who responded to Chris Pratt’s stating he was Star Lord by saying, “Who?!”
Also in the ensemble is McKenna Grace, Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, Gemma Chan and Lashana Lynch.
Captain Marvel is set to land in theaters in March of 2019.
