Warner Bros. has released the most delightful “connection” video that illustrates the direct correlations between their latest release, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and its Harry Potter franchise.
The Crimes of Grindelwald stars Jude Law (who plays a young Dumbledore) and Eddie Redmayne (back as Newt Scamander) introduce the clip and tease the importance of making these direct lines between the iconic Harry Potter world and the current one that author J.K. Rowling has crafted.
One of the highlights is the discovery that Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) is the one controlling the Elder Wand—one of the three Deathly Hallows. What else is fascinating is something we suspected all along, that there is a past between Grindelwald and Dumbledore. That is why, in the first Crimes of Grindelwald trailer, the Hogwarts professor explains why he personally cannot go after the villain.
Look for more connections between Harry Potter and the new Wizarding World when The Crimes of Grindelwald opens everywhere on November 16.
