Nutcracker and the Four Realms Trailer: Disney Takes Tchaikovsky Up a Notch

Leave it to Disney to come up with a Nutcracker world we have never seen before. That is exactly what they have done, and it is on full display with the trailer for their The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

The film comes from Lasse Hallstrom and Joe Johnston (he gave us the first Captain America flicks).

Nutcracker and the Four Realms takes place in simultaneous worlds, the Land of Snowflakes, Land of Sweets and the Land of Flowers.

It centers on Mackenzie Foy’s Clara as she exits these three realms and enters the fourth realm to take on the evil Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren) and her army of mice (who might just be on her side… recall the mice in the original Tchaikovsky ballet?!).

The visuals on this thing look stunning and that alone, along with the soundtrack, is enough to get people in the seats. Toss in the vivid imagination of The Mouse House and we may have a holiday winner on our hands.

It also stars Morgan Freeman, Miranda Hart, Jack Whitehall, Ellie Bamber, Misty Copeland and Eugenio Derbez.

Look to enter the Four Realms on November 2.
