Drew Goddard wowed us as a writer-director with The Cabin in the Woods. His screenwriting skills are uncanny—from The Martian to World War Z. He has a wildly inventive tone and tenor and Goddard is back as writer-director with the wildly inventive-looking Bad Times at the El Royale.
The story follows the titular hotel. It sits on the border of California and Nevada. Guests are allowed to chose whether they want a room in either state. Sure, that’s the novelty, but the draw here is seven mysterious strangers who happen to be staying at the El Royale on this particular evening. Of course, everyone is not who they seem… including Jeff Bridges as a priest.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The cast is sensational—from Bridges, to Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Offerman and making quite a splash… Chris Hemsworth.
Look to check in when Bad Times at the El Royale opens everywhere October 12.
