The first trailer for the Jurassic World-size shark thriller, The Meg, has landed from Warner Bros. It features one of our faves, Jason Statham, battling the largest shark ever known to swim below the water’s surface.
Statham is a rescue diver and navy captain who is on a bottom of the sea research facility as part of a scientific effort to discover new things about the world that exists underwater. Everyone down there gets a whole lot more than they bargained for when they discover that a shark species that is supposed to have been dead for two million years is in fact alive and well and making plans to destroy the undersea research facility, and then head up to the surface to do some true damage to the human race that dares enter the water.
The Meg comes from director Jon Turteltaub and looks like a terrific vehicle for Statham to deliver a few more dozen of his trademark one liners.
Joining Statham on this underwater thrill-ride is Cliff Curtis, Rainn Wilson, Ruby Rose (John Wick Chapter Two), Li Bing-Bing, Cliff Curtis, Winston Chao, Jessica McNamee, Olafur Darris Olafsson and Masi Oka.
Look for The Meg on August 10.
