The days of waiting until Super Bowl Sunday to see the ads are certainly over. Further proof of that is the arrival of the Ghost in the Shell big game teaser starring Scarlett Johansson that just dropped today.
Johansson stars as Major Motoko Kusanagi in the March 31 film which is directed by Rupert Sanders (of Snow White and the Huntsman fame). It is based on the iconic Kodansha Comics manga series and comes to us from some producers with some pretty serious comics cred, Avi Arad (Spider-Man) and Steven Paul (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance).
Johansson stars as Major, a special ops human-cyborg hybrid who is the head of the elite group known as Section 9. They are committed to destroying the world’s worst and will do anything to achieve their goals.
Ghost in the Shell also stars Michael Pitt, Juliette Binoche, Beat Takeshi Kitano and Kaori Momoi.
