Fox has unveiled an extended, almost five minute (!), trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence and it’s official… The Movie Mensch is in.
What’s so fascinating about this latest Independence Day: Resurgence trailer is that it is massive in length and scope, it doesn’t fall into a trap that so many trailers have its length do: give away the whole movie!
The Earth is coming up on the 20th anniversary of the attack where Bill Pullman’s president famously called out our Independence Day and we fought back against insurmountable odds. Instead of a celebration, the day turns into another fight for our survival as a distress signal that went out right before the mother ship was destroyed in the first movie… is finally answered.
Independence Day: Resurgence features Jeff Goldblum, Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner reprising their roles from the first film, with Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher and Maika Monroe joining the cast. Sela Ward is also cast as the president this time around.
The film was written by the team that brought us the first blockbuster, Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin, along with and James Vanderbilt, James A.Woods & Nicolas Wright.
