The first trailer for Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some has debuted and it is not only going to be known as the film he did as a follow-up to the astounding Boyhood. Yup, it’s also a clear relation to one of the filmmaker’s first films, Dazed and Confused.
In fact, in interviews for Boyhood, he admitted that Everybody Wants Some would be a “spiritual” sequel to Dazed and Confused. Immediately, legions of fans for that cult classic that spotlighted the filmmaker’s Texas view of the 1970s stood up at attention. This would be how he saw the 80s and college.
Judging by the first teaser, the spirit is exactly the same, and apparently Linklater also used the same costume designer because it is spot-on!
