The Martian took the top spot at the weekend box office for its fourth victory. The film banked $11.4 million to bring its total to an astounding $182.8 million since the Ridley Scott film debuted. Third place belonged to Bridge of Spies. The fourth film that Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks made together banked $8 million for a cume of $45.2 million. Fourth place found Hotel Transylvania 2, another movie that capitalized on the Halloween weekend. The Adam Sandler animated vehicle earned $5.8 million to bring its total to $156 million.
Closing out the top five was the only new movie to crack the box office leaderboard, the Bradley Cooper chef drama, Burnt. It took in a cool $5 million.
Our Brand is Crisis didn’t register anywhere near the top five. In fact, it debuted at number at with a dismal $3.4 million. That is one of the lowest debuts of Sandra Bullock’s career.
