The triumphant and inspiring story of sports and cultural legend Jesse Owens is coming to the big screen from Focus Features. The first trailer for Race is here and it has us already getting the chills, simply from the two minute tease!
Stephan James (Selma) stars as Owens and the film chronicles his rise from youthful track and field runner to collegiate champion to Olympian who would defy the Nazi empire in the 1936 Berlin games and a slew of racist naysayers along the way in America.
Race also stars Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses) as Owens’ coach in one of the comedian’s first dramatic roles. The biopic also features Jeremy Irons, William Hurt, Shanice Banton and Carice van Houten.
Look for Owens to win the Race and many of them on February 19, 2016.
