The first trailer for Concussion has arrived and it reminds us why Will Smith is an Oscar nominee and thanks to this picture, he likely will be again.
The film chronicles the real life story of Dr. Bennet Omalu, the forensic neuropathologist who was the first medical professional to discover the football related brain trauma in players. You can imagine that did not endear him to the National Football League, and the effort to quiet him is much of the drama in Concussion.
Sony Pictures is releasing the film on Christmas Day and is a testament to the human spirit that cannot be squashed when seeking to get out the truth, particularly when that truth is ruining and taking lives.
Concussion also stars Luke Wilson, Alec Baldwin, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Arliss Howard, David Morse, Albert Brooks and Paul Reiser. It is based on the GQ article Game Brain, and comes from the producing team lead by Ridley Scott.
Smith will be seen next year in Suicide Squad.
